April - Month of the Military Child
Meadow Lane celebrated Month of the Military Child 2014 with the theme "We Serve, Too" to honor our military kids who make up over 40% of our student population. The bulletin board in the front lobby was decorated with pictures our our military kids who wrote what they like best about their military family. To show support for our military families, students and staff wore red, white, and blue each Friday during the month. On Wednesday, April 16, Miss Goldsboro, Emily Tucker, spoke to students about her personal story of being a military child. Her platform is to inform and involve civilians in the military life, while promoting a character building and anti-bullying message. She also performed the National Anthem for students and led them in singing a patriotic song.
